What is a PM VSD compressor?

A PM VSD compressor (Permanent Magnet Variable Speed Drive) uses a permanent magnet motor that automatically adjusts its speed to match compressed air demand in real time. Instead of running at full capacity and unloading excess pressure, the compressor delivers exactly the amount of compressed air needed — which can reduce electricity costs by up to 35% compared to conventional compressors.

The closed-loop vector control provides a response time of under 50 milliseconds with constant pressure regulation within ±0.1 bar. The UH-series magnets withstand temperatures up to 180°C and have a service life of over 40,000 operating hours. Direct drive 1:1 transmission eliminates energy losses and maintenance-intensive belts, while SKF bearings and 304 stainless steel pipework ensure long service life.

The model range spans from 5.5 kW to 400 kW with working pressures between 7.0 and 13.0 bar, covering everything from smaller workshops to large industrial facilities. IP65 protection on models up to 45 kW and IP55 from 55 kW upwards makes them suitable for demanding operating environments.
