What is a refrigerated dryer?
An air-cooled refrigerated dryer cools the compressed air so that moisture condenses and can be separated — just like dew forms on a cold glass on a warm summer's day. The result is drier air with a pressure dew point of 2°C, effectively protecting pipelines, valves and connected equipment from corrosion and moisture damage.
The high-efficiency aluminum alloy plate heat exchanger takes up to 2/3 less space than conventional shell-and-tube designs. Nano anti-corrosion coating significantly extends service life, and the environmentally friendly refrigerant (R-410A, R-407C or R513A) gives a pressure drop of under 0.25 bar for minimal energy loss.
With capacities from 1.6 to 50 m³/min and inlet temperatures up to 60°C, the air-cooled refrigerated dryer suits most industrial compressed air systems. It is a simple and cost-effective first step in the air treatment chain for general industry, painting, pneumatics and food production.
